Back to Belmore Inc. is governed by an executive committee of seven members, who form the permanent governing body of the organisation. The President, elected from among these members, serves as Chairperson of the committee.
The executive committee sets Back to Belmore's strategic direction, oversees its management and ensures all activities align with the organisation's mission and objectives. This governing body carries ultimate responsibility for the organisation's good governance today and its vision for tomorrow.
Committee members are elected annually and are expected to act with integrity, competence and in good faith, always in the best interests of Belmore Sports Ground's preservation and revitalisation as a multi-purpose community venue. Each member exercises care, skill and diligence in making decisions that shape the future of the iconic facility.
Working closely with the President, the executive committee determines the organisation's strategy and monitors operations to ensure Back to Belmore remains effective, viable and true to its mission. The committee's primary responsibilities include:
- Nominating committee members, electing the President and appointing senior advisers
- Setting clear objectives, policies and strategic priorities
- Representing community interests, ethical standards and our core values in all decisions
- Defining the roles and authorities of the President, advisers and committee members
- Providing leadership in planning, organisation, governance and succession
- Approving operational, technical, tactical and financial plans
- Monitoring performance against agreed goals and outcomes
- Ensuring all current actions and plans support the achievement of our short and long-term objectives
Under the President's leadership and the committee's oversight, the executive committee manages the day-to-day affairs of Back to Belmore Inc., prepares and implements decisions on community initiatives, policy and budgets, and upholds our commitment to effective governance.
Our seven committee members serve entirely in a voluntary capacity, bringing diverse professional skills and a wealth of experience to guide the organisation. The executive committee meets monthly to ensure Back to Belmore continues to deliver for Belmore Sports Ground and the community it serves.
