BACK TO BELMORE ENDORSES "MAGNIFICENT SEVEN"

Media Statement

February 1, 2008

Bulldogs' supporter group Back to Belmore has endorsed seven candidates for the Bulldogs Rugby League Club's Board of Directors ahead of the February 17 ballot. Back to Belmore has listed the seven candidates that it believes have the right experience and the right agenda to bring the Bulldogs back to their traditional heartland.

The Back to Belmore-endorsed candidates are the following (in alphabetical order): Phil Charlton, Ray Dib, Paul Dunn, Andrew Farrar, Graeme Hughes, Robert Picone and Barry Ward.

"The leading candidates seeking positions on the Bulldogs Board of Directors present an intriguing mix of personalities and priorities," said Back to Belmore President Luke Brailey. "In a talented field, we believe these candidates have the right experience and the right agenda to bring the Bulldogs back to their traditional heartland."

Ray Dib is the only incumbent Board member endorsed by the Back to Belmore movement. "Ray Dib has played a key role in obtaining beneficial sponsorship that will help guarantee the Bulldogs' future in the coming years and also has a keen understanding of the importance of the Bulldogs' proud traditions," said Mr Brailey.

If elected on February 17, Back to Belmore believes that these seven candidates will live up to the Bulldogs' Charter of giving back to the Canterbury Bankstown District that the Club has always proudly called home.

"The most crucial issue facing the Bulldogs is the future of our spiritual home, Belmore Sports Ground. These candidates are best prepared to confront the enormous challenges facing Belmore," said Mr Brailey.

"The job requires tough men who not only understand the factors that have crippled Belmore Sports Ground but also possess the foresight, discipline and skill to act immediately and navigate the club back to its proud traditions."
